‘Legendary Couple’ (1995)

I stumbled across this, past midnight, on a Hong Kong movie channel. Missing the first portion, it took me a little while to figure out what was happening, but it’s too long. Still, the image of Simon Yam strapping a baby to his body and starting a crime spree with Chingmy Yau by his side is quite arresting.

The action is non-stop. Though it never adds up to much, it IS non-stop, and silly. It was a good time-killer and passed the time pleasantly until I could get back to sleep, but there’s a reason why it doesn’t surface very often. Legendary Couple is not a lost classic; it’s more like a direct-to-video movie before there was a market for such things.
